In this area of the country, homeowners who experience even a small amount of water seeping into their homes, either from flooding or a broken pipe, should be very concerned about mold. If you take care of drying the water and the water was from a clean source, you can save your carpet. However, you will need to dry that carpet properly.
We have seen people dry their carpet using the three methods described below; however, I caution you that two of the three methods will produce a perfect environment to grow mold in your home.
- Place towels over the carpet and stand on them – Do not do this
- Use a shop vac and suck out the water – Do not do this
- Or call Dri Pro Restoration of North West Florida and let them use their Specialized Equipment to extract the water and dry the carpet. (850) 660-3659
Water and moisture are not always visible to the eyes. Just because you can't see water doesn't mean that.
